With the Festive Break officially over and league business about ready to start back up, I want to take a little of everyone's time to discuss a couple potential rule changes that have come up a few times in the past.
Some of you know that this league is a mirror league to another long running league that some of us play and that I also commish. So I have always been really reluctant to change any rules in this league that we don't also use there. But I'm starting to change my tune on that thought more and more each year. This league is now going into it's 5th season so I feel like it has established itself pretty firmly on it's own now. So I think the time has come that I at least consider venturing away from the other league a little and potentially make some small tweaks to this league that make it different than the other.
The #1 rule that I hear the most complaints about every year (especially this time of year!!) is Rule #13...the 48 hour auction. I have also heard a few times that people don't like how long trades take to pass. So I've decided to put those 2 rules to a vote! If your one that don't like those 2 rules, now is your chance to make a change!
I have posted a vote on each of these topics. I am one that don't like to fix what isn't broke, so I am looking for an overwhelming YES vote on each to make any change. I take any change to our rule book very serious so a simple majority is not good enough for me! There are 16 of us and I expect to see 16 votes on each. If you don't vote, you can't complain if you don't like the way the vote ends up.
I am going to set the deadline to vote for Next Saturday, 1/25/19, 23:59 ET. That gives us exactly 1 week to make a decision. I think that is more than enough time.
Again, the Festive Break is over, so everyone should be checking in to Proboard regularly again and ready to get back to business. February auction starts in a little over 2 weeks (as soon as Yahoo opens up again). So let's get back to work...get out and vote!
