I am new at this. For example, if we traded, would I absorb the salary cap of the player trader for? If we swapped catchers I would absorp Posey's salary and you would absorb Wieters salary. Would this cost any extra? The trouble is, finding the money to absorp Posey's salary. I do have the 3rd overall pick. I need to learn the system more before I could commit.

Everything is negotiable! You can negotiate to absorb it or you can negotiate that the owner of an expensive player will cover all or part of the players salary. You can even negotiate future money if Posey was signed for 5 years you could negotiate that the seller gives the buyer Posey $3 mil per season for 5 years.....the possibilities are endless!

99% of trades should be fine. Only questionable ones we've encountered are guys trading in a collusion effort, i.e. postponing half the trade till after the playoffs to help other team win. Those usually cause the most drama. But anything else goes thru without much resistance. Some guys trade someone for nothing, to create cap space. But swap future money, draft picks (only thru next draft, no trading like 2020 picks), create incentive based contract like bonuses if a player gets hurt or if he gets dropped or traded, create no trade clauses, no drop clauses, endless possibilities.
