Call me a skeptic, but looking to reduce my risk on this season as I have a lot of 1 year talent.
You probably need a good option candidate, I’ve looked at your rosters.
Urias, Urquidy, and Castillo are all young and will be super cheap regardless of option cost decision.
Verlander - would be a $15 option price as well if we use 2020 since he is out for an extended time.
Bogaerts - $18.50 now, could be a $16.75 option guys if he misses some time this year or performance doesn’t meet expectations. But if you’re looking for a bump for this season and feel comfortable with the risk he’s obviously a huge get.
Scherzer - $27 great guy if you are looking to go after this season.
