Hold off on starting auctions for now. I know we have usually started by now. But this year we are going to push it back a little to give everyone a little breather. I will announce a start date and update the calendar soon.
In the meantime, feel free to be as active as you want on the trade front. Let's see what kind of wrinkle it adds to the league if we have a little delay before the auction starts.
If anyone wants to add your input to when you think the best time to start the 1st auction would be, I'm very interested in hearing it.

We've done the same thing in the sister league and we have already seen 5 or 6 trades. Next year we may go back to the normal schedule. But for this year I want to see how this plays out.

I like auctions starting the day after the World Series ends just like free agency in MLB. That also protects against someone winning an auction on a player that then gets hurt during the playoffs and is out the next year because of it. Rare but it can happen.

Players become FA's the day after the WS, but can't sign until 5 days after completion of the WS.
