Use this thread for any draft pick comments so we keep the official draft thread clean of just picks.

I have added a link to the draft to the top of the page for easy access. "2016 Prospect Draft"

This is going to be fun. Haven't done a full minor league draft in years. Last time was when Trout was eligible.

I'll be out until around 5, but I doubt it makes it to me before then. I'll be ready to pick

Just curious....why is there a 1A and 3A instead of 1-5? No biggie, just wondered if the distinction was important

Just curious....why is there a 1A and 3A instead of 1-5? No biggie, just wondered if the distinction was important Yeah the distinction is for the contract costs when they are promoted. 1A follows the first round costs, 3A follows the 3rd round costs. Below is the breakdown from the rules. Since we are doing 6 rounds in the inaugural draft we had to distinguish them that way. - players drafted in the 1st round cost $3.5 in the season you promote them, $5.25 in their 2nd season and $7 in the third, fourth and fifth years. - players drafted in the 2nd round cost $2.5 in the season you promote them, $3.75 in their 2nd season and $5 in the third, fourth and fifth years. - players drafted in both the 3rd and 4th rounds cost $1.5 in the season you promote them, $2.25 in their second season and $3 in the third, fourth and fifth years.

Ballers from here on there will only be 4 rounds of prospect draft and each round has a corresponding contract. For the first year we wanted to have 6 rounds to more quickly populate the prospect rosters.
When the draft is done all players picked in round 1 and 1b will all be classified simply as round 1 prospects and have round 1 contracts associated with them.
So at the conclusion you will have two 1st round prospects, one 2nd round prospect, two 3rd round prospects, and one 4th round prospect.
Then next year we go to the norm of only 4 rounds of prospect draft.
Does that help?
